For me the image of Africa was always wide open spaces, extensive habitats that gave wildlife room to breathe. Whilst I was in Botswana, my focus was on shooting this idea, looking to bring together the wildlife and the landscape into my portfolio. In design I knew panoramic images would be a focus for my time, putting my subjects in the context of their surroundings, rather than simple portraits. In addition giving more scale to the work, I was lucky enough to have the chance to work from the air, with my flights on and off the delta the perfect opportunity to capture the geography and landscape that these animals call home.
